Mobile app development, end to end

Sena Software is a London-based mobile engineering team. We design, build, test and ship native iOS and Android apps, cross-platform products, wearables and the backends behind them — then stay on to keep them running.

Our expertise

Six focused mobile services, each with a team that has shipped in that discipline. Start with one or run the whole lifecycle with us.

Reach beyond the phone and strengthen what sits behind it.

Keep a live product healthy, secure and improving.

  • QA and automated testing
  • Performance and crash monitoring
  • App Store and Google Play release management
  • Ongoing maintenance and feature development

Mobile is what we do, not one of many things we do

Plenty of agencies add a mobile practice to a long list of services. We only build for mobile, which is why our engineers know the platform guidelines, the review processes and the device quirks before they hit your project.

Talk to an engineer

What you get, whichever service you start with

The same delivery standards apply across every engagement.

A named team, not a queue

You know who is on your project before it starts, and they are Sena employees rather than subcontractors. Nobody gets swapped out mid-sprint without a conversation.

Working builds every sprint

You see a real build at the end of each iteration rather than waiting for a single reveal at the end.

Testing on real devices

Functional, regression, performance and usability testing across a broad matrix of real hardware and OS versions, not just emulators.

Security considered from the start

Encrypted data in transit and at rest, secure authentication, least-privilege access and dependency scanning in CI.

Store submission handled

We prepare listings, assets and metadata, then manage the App Store and Google Play review process end to end.

Support after launch

Crash rates, performance and store reviews monitored, with a regular release cadence and support for each new OS version.

Rest easy knowing it works the first time

From idea to launch, our development and QA process is built for reliability, and every build is engineered for resilience.

  • Full-cycle mobile development
  • Discovery and planning workshops
  • Automated testing and QA workflows
  • Technical audit and optimisation
  • Mobile architecture consulting
  • Security review built into every release

Stay informed, stay in control

A shared board shows what is done, in progress and queued. You get demo sessions each sprint, direct access to the engineers, and a written summary of decisions rather than a monthly status slide.

+

Forget the chaos

One delivery lead owns the schedule and the budget. Scope changes are priced and agreed before they enter a sprint, so the plan you signed off stays recognisable.

+

Make growth effortless

Scale the team up for a push and back down afterwards. Architecture decisions are made with the next order of magnitude in mind, so growth does not mean a rebuild.

+

How we keep delivery predictable

No vague promises — a way of working built for speed, predictability and transparency, because confidence comes from results rather than words.

A fast start

We move from signed contract to a working team quickly, because the team is already ours. No recruitment cycle, no waiting on a subcontractor to free someone up.

Named people, not a queue

Every project has a delivery manager driving execution and a senior engineer owning technical decisions. You always know who to call.

Quality assessed up front

Before code is written we run a delivery risk assessment to surface the things most likely to derail the schedule, and plan around them.

Scaling on your terms

Adjust pace and team size as the roadmap changes, with guidance from projects that have grown from MVP to a mature product.

See how we work

There is only so much a page can tell you. Talk to the people who would actually be on your project.

Start your project, your way

Whether you are testing the waters or scaling fast, we offer flexible engagement models tailored to where you are and where you are headed. Each one gives you direct access to the engineers doing the work.

01

Product discovery workshop

Build momentum without the wait. A short, structured workshop that cuts through complexity and defines a clear, actionable direction for your mobile project — scope, architecture, platform decisions and a realistic budget range — delivered in weeks rather than months.

02

Full product build

A complete project team delivering from day one. Best suited to a well-defined scope, this model covers every stage of the lifecycle — research, design, architecture, development, QA and store release — with a single point of accountability and dated milestones.

03

Dedicated team

A team fully aligned to your goals, pace and product vision. Suited to complex, evolving products, this model gives you engineers who learn your domain deeply and stay with the product as it grows.

You already have enough to worry about. Your app shouldn’t be part of it.

Get the right team, the right technology and a product that holds up — in one partnership built to last.

FAQs

The questions you are most likely to ask are answered here, so when we first speak the conversation can be about your goals rather than the basics.

How much does it cost to work with Sena Software?

Cost follows scope, platform count and integration complexity far more than headline rates. A focused MVP on one platform sits at the low end; a multi-platform product with a custom backend, third-party integrations and a compliance review sits well above it. After a discovery workshop we give a range, and once scope is agreed, a fixed figure per milestone.

How long does it take to build my product?

A straightforward MVP typically reaches the stores in three to four months. A larger product with a custom backend, several integrations and a full design phase usually runs six to nine. Discovery is what turns that range into a schedule you can plan around.
+

How quickly can you start my project?

It depends on the skills involved and current team availability. Tell us the stack and the start date you have in mind and we will be straight with you about what is realistic rather than promising a date we cannot hold.
+

What technologies do you specialise in?

Swift and SwiftUI on iOS, Kotlin on Android, React Native and Flutter for cross-platform, watchOS and Wear OS for wearables, and Node.js, Python or Go with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Firebase on the backend. Full lists sit on each service page.
+

Can you handle AI features as well as conventional apps?

Yes — on-device and API-backed features such as recommendations, classification, natural language and computer vision, built into a mobile product. We will also tell you when a feature does not need a model behind it.
+

How do you integrate with our existing workflows?

We work in your tools and your process where you have one: your board, your repository, your CI, your review standards, your stand-up times. Where you do not, we bring ours and document it.
+

What if I need to scale my team up or down?

Engagements are structured so team size can change with notice rather than renegotiation. Ramping down is as normal a part of the plan as ramping up.
+

How do you ensure code quality and security? Will I retain full ownership of my IP?

Code review on every merge, automated test suites in CI, dependency and secret scanning, and security testing before release. You own the code and the IP outright — that is written into the contract, and the repository is yours from the first commit.
